I can already see the great potential as the other cane looks like it will have about 5 flowers or that's at least how many swollen nubbins I see near the top of the cane.
Is Thomas Wayne considered a difficult grower?
It has done nothing the entire time it has been here with me. Well, other than growing roots in the pot I can see through the clear plastic pot it is in.
Fortyniner is sprouting a few nubbins and I hope they are flower buds. I'm very excited!!!

No, this dendrobium belong to a group called Formosae or nigrohirsute, meaning dark hair because the entire plant is covered with short black hair.
When the growth is very young and you are not familiar with this plant like I was with this plant back in the summer, you will think the new growth is rotting. lol
This is a primay hybrid involving formosum and one other highland species.
