what exactly is the overall cycle of a dendrobium phalaenopsis? Male
Default what exactly is the overall cycle of a dendrobium phalaenopsis?

I ask this because I've read that (for most dendrobiums) they produce new growths in the spring and summer, those new growths harden near the end of summer to fall. And usually over the fall and winter they go into dormancy and initiate flower production.

Mine, had put out a new growth a couple months ago (its only half the size of the biggest cane, probably didn't get enough lighting because of where I used to live) now it's producing a flower spike off of two of the older canes including the new one (I think, I can't completely tell yet if it's the nub of a new leaf, or a spike) this already had me excited because it'll really be my official first time reblooming an orchid.

But now, there are two new canes growing. They are still tiny but they're there. I thought this was the time of the year that they didn't do that. I'm confused.
