Cadetia taylori - I've got contacted recently by one of our Florida Orchid Group members offering me this plant, I was not familiar with the species, but when I did search for it, I knew I must get one. So this is my new division - comes from Australia and PNG, hot to warm growing, I mounted it, and it came with many buds open and some forming. Really like the plant, will keep it outside at the balcony and provide some bright light, regular watering and fertilizing. Blooms are really tiny and hard to photograph.

Beautiful flowers. You have managed to mount it with success....you have quite a specimen sized there....My plant is happily thriving in a plastic pot and it is overcrowding. I need to repot soon.

Thanks Bud, I do prefer mounted if possible, it works much better for my balcony and space plus the heavy rains. It also means more labor for me with watering though :-)

First thought you had a bud on a lily pad-duh. Bloom is similar to my pteroceras semiteretifolia on a treefern mount but I'm going to look into that hygroton(?) wrap. I've given up on fishing line and small guage wire doesn't always pan out. Money and orchids-can't have one without the other!

Hygrolon material is special material that wicks the water, and is very breathable. I am using it for mounting a lot, but I have some hygrolon cloth and when mounting I just cut a strip of hygrolon and use it instead of wire, and it seems to work just fine!

A step up from using pantyhose!
