Unknown dendrobium decided one of it's keikis would be a spike!
My girlfriend rescued this one from the garden center she works at, and got it for my birthday. We have no idea what it is (although if anyone has any suggestions that would be cool), but it's doing way better!
That one is hard to ID, so it'll have to stay NOID.
Its ancestry though (since your plant is a very popular and common hybrid) include dendrobiums in the section phalaenonthe and spatulata.
So, give it bright light, warmth, lots of water (while growing) and it will be happy.
Anyways, what a great gift!!!
Keikis in the upper part of the mother canes turning into a spike is not uncommon.
