Default my dendrobium sonia

this is my first dendrobium ever and after much love and attention i almost killed it so i pulled back a little and it seems to be surviving.i didnt like the mounting it came on so i potted it and placed it on an east facing window which gets about 3 hours good light and a bit more of brightish light.i'm watering once a week with an added weakly fertilizer,i mist it with a spray bottle containing some of the fertilizer as well in the mornings, dont have space on the window sill for a tray of water and the air is kinda dry here so hoping it will help with that,on weekends when i have more time at home i place it outside where it gets sun till about midday spritzing it everytime i see it(its winter here but days can get quite warm should i worry about sunburn) and am i over killing with the spraying and foliar feeds?placed a photo here as well of the plant there are a few stems with no leaves, will they grow back or what do i do with them.also heard that they can flower more than once a year, how do i go about getting them to?does anyone know how big they get i read up that some dends can grow metres high?any help will be greatly appreciated.

I love it!
I have one but mine is huge compared to yours. never seen such a small plant of Sonia, but it could be a miniature version but with regular sized flower.
not sure.

Anyways, if you have warm and sunny days during the winter, then I would water it normally.
Your description of the care you provide sounds good to me, except once you see the plant start to grow new canes, you want to up the watering.
What is it potted in?

Regarding light, direct sun in the winter should not burn the plant, but I'm not in your region, so you might want to try and experiment. When given too much light, the leaves will turn yellowish or take on a overall dirty brown or purplish cast. Then you want to give it less light.
Generally, this and other similar dendrobium hybrids do best with very bright light for at least half day.

Mine blooms thoughout the year.
I bought it in the fall of 2012. It bloomed aging in spring, summer and fall and winter. basically anytime the new cane mature, there will be a spike at the tip of that cane or additional spikes from the older canes.

No leaves on your plant is something to worry about as the leaves on these plants should last for a number of years. Mine has never lost a single leaf since 2012.

You might want to check the roots to see if they are healthy. or if the potting mix is something that stays too wet or too dense, then you will do better with this plant with something more open, which allows you to water often without having to worry about rotting the roots.

when i bought it it was in a bucket outside(middle of winter) with some others standing in water those stems never had leaves but they are green and look alive.its roots which were a small ball were wrapped in a bit of sack attached to a piece of wood,i potted it root ball and all in a coarse bark mix over a month ago and the leaves and flowers have stopped dropping and the plant seems stable so im hoping all is well.will see how it goes as the days are warming up here already.how tall can they grow if this is one of the big ones?thanks for the info

Warmth will make it grow.
I hope your plant will sprout a new growth soon.
Until then, keep it on the dry side. Once a week watering is enough for now I believe.

Yours look very small, and I am not sure how big it will get.
Mine is about 70 cm tall, not counting the spikes.

misting is fine I think. I always (almost once or twice everyday) mist the roots that are exposed on top of the potting mix regardless of what plant it might be.

I hope it grows fine. I think yours is a shorter variety.

No, but here's a picture of flowers.
The whole thing is just too tall for me to take a photo of.
