I got this little guy for free from a local florist, as it would not sell when out of bloom. Now it's putting out flowers again! They smell like honey. I will probably have to move this guy upstairs in the wintertime, I fear it will get too cold in my laundry room for this warm to hot growing species. Light is medium/high, and I keep the medium moist.
Thanks for the growing advice on your beautiful flowering Den. oligophyllum. I have one mounted on a small piece of cork. It is doing okay, but I think I'll hang some sphagnum moss around it--we have had very low humid days.
I thought Den. oligophyllum was an intermediate temperature grower? I've seen many references say it would tolerate 60ºF at night on a regular basis, and possibly in the upper 50s once in a while, so I would consider it temperature tolerant on a wide range.
During the winter, I had mine by window where it can get cool, like around 65 or slightly lower and it was perfectly fine. They don't grow during winter anyways. just keep them drier if you are going to keep them cool during the winter.
I like this plant in that they bloom for a long time and so cute. Mine was not strongly scented, but just barely.
During the growing season, they do need heat and a lot of water.
