Yes, they can bloom on previously bloomed canes

Re Winter
I grow in a shared greenhouse. Controls are fine (min temp = 55F, and vents come on at abt 80F). I attach my kingianums to a rear wall, away from the heater. In that location I can control watering better (minimal till they bloom).

I grow my kingianum var alba in my greenhouse but it goes colder than this at times (though not all winter). Heater comes on at 41F and vents open at 57F. It get's warmer than 57F of course when it's warm outside, but that's when the vents open to try and keep it no warmer than outside.

This winter it only got down to 41F a couple of times. Last winter it got down there for a couple of weeks in a row (when it was snowing outside) and was down there most other winter nights, even if a tad warmer in the day. It even got down to 39F on a couple of nights when the heater was struggling.

The kingianum was fine that cool, didn't bother about the low temps at all.

They can withstand slightly freezing just fine as well.

It's just like other dendrobiums that need winter chilling.
They will bloom and grow much better with proper cold winter, but many will still bloom (but not amazing or anything) with "cool" winter.

Speaking of kingianum, I have a few of albas, and some of those have lighter colored canes than the regular colored version, but at least one is indistinguishable from the standard version.

My personal preference is actually variety silcockii, which is a semi-alba. The best one I have is 'Sue' from SBOE.

Lastly, at the Deep Cut show in February, Dick Doran could not make it due to the weather. In his absence, the best specimen plant award went to Waldor Orchids for a plant that was 3'+ across.

Nice!

I love these plants!
When I saw huge specimen in full bloom at the shows, I just wanted to lift some up and run. hahaha
