Dendrobium anosmum in full bloom in Montana (in S/H)
Nursed this one through it's "winter rest" period with fingers crossed. What a difference one month makes
Hope the attachment-thingy works..

WOW! anosmum blooming in Montana! Congratulations ! I find it hard to grow this orchid plant inside my Manhattan apartment, but I managed to bloom both the alba and the lavender for a couple of years now.

Thanks! Maybe it was beginner's luck(?) I love how all that beauty can spring from a leafless cane! Soon, I hope, it will be warm enough to take the light-lover types outside on a field trip

Great! I thought I was the only one in the Northern Plains growing orchids!

Yes, very cold this winter- -20 F/-29 C with over 100 in / 254 cm of snow! It was so nice having a little indoor "jungle" this year
The Den. is in clay pellets (s/h) and it was my first time "forcing" a deciduous orchid to drop its leaves. So glad it worked!

No your not, I'm right here with you. It really is fun to have blooms when it is so cold and nasty outside.
I haven't tried the Den's yet. Well I had a couple a long time ago before I knew anything, a friend gave them to me. They lost there leaves and I thought they were dead so I tossed them. Man am I dumb or what. He didn't know either.
Do you live out of town or do you live up on the rim? I'm just about 14 miles south of Buffalo.
