Default Dendrobium Spring Bird 'Kurashiki' What type is it?

I just got my first dendrobium and I don't know much about them. I've been trying to figure out what type it is so I will know if I need to give it a winter rest, how much sun and what temps it likes. The information I found online about dendrobium types was contradictory and confusing to me.

Here's what I observed about my dendrobium: the bulbous sections of the canes feel hard, the leaves are thin and bendable, the flowers are all near the tops of the canes with a short spike of about 3 flowers on either side of the canes.

I think it is a "Nobile" type Dendrobium. Here is some information:

Cultivar name
Dendrobium Spring Bird (Den. Spring Bird)

Parents
Dendrobium Demitasse × Dendrobium Sweet Love

Note
Dendrobium Spring Bird 'Kurashiki' is an orchid which was cultivated by Yamamoto Dendrobium Nursery and displayed at the Orchid Show 2009 in Tokyo Dome (Tokyo, Japan).

It is a 50/50 for medium to bright light. It's also a 50/50 cool to warm temperatures. 3 main dendrob crosses in it are nobile, moniliforme and friedericksianum. Be solid with water and fertiliser in the warmer months and when you hit your cooler parts of the year such as autumn and winter, back it off.

Do you have it mounted or potted?

AussieVanda, it is potted in the pot that it came in. It's in fine bark and perlite. I don't have any small bark yet, it's very hard to find in my area. Should I use medium bark if I can't find small? I also have sphagnum moss and coconut chips. What do they like?

Personally I prefer to mount my dendrobs. For those that are potted I like chunky medium, usually volcanic rock which has it's pros and cons depending on where it has been sourced. Otherwise I like chunky woodchip anything from a medium size upwards. Charcoal and polystyrene mix also works well. Coconut chips are also fine but I find they hold too much moisture for my liking. Look for a pot that would be a snuggish fit. Remember unlike money, dendrobs usually grow in trees and to some extent by giving them a snug fitting pot and easy drained medium you are with a bit if imagination replicating that.
