Dendrobium aggregatum (lindleyi)
Default Dendrobium aggregatum (lindleyi)

I got this plant 3-4 years ago as a bagged orchid from Lowes hardware. It grows really well and this is its second time blooming. It skipped last year despite my best efforts. I was hoping for more spikes, since it skipped a year but these two are beautiful so I can't be too mad. I usually stop watering in early november and do not water again until spikes begin (except last year when it was clear that no spikes were going to sprout). This usually means no water till mid february for me.

… and do think i was ready to get rid of it for not blooming

Bright lovely display. Always follow your instincts. The plant gave you flowers this cycle because you gave it enough care when in its growth mode....even if you gave it proper winter rest if the growth mode didn't provide it enough energy to produce spikes; then its just new bulbs and leaves you get.

As cool as my house gets, so maybe not as cool as it would like.
