New Dendrobium anosmum (superbum) Male
Default New Dendrobium anosmum (superbum)

I got a new Dendrobium keiki. Its a Dendrobium anosmum or as known as superbum as well. It has one growth with the leaves dying off and a new growth starting. It also has long roots.

Its bareroot as of now.

How do I repot it and what culture does it prefer? Should I pot it in a pot or a basket/mount it?

I recently got this orchid plant from Kawamoto of Hawaii. I hope to bloom it next year.
Better mount your keiki or pot it. It seems to have healthy roots.

With the long roots you probably should mount it.

I grow mine in Catt light in a clay pot. For a couple of months mid-winter I grow it dry. I drizzle water around the edge of the pot once a week. When the new growths appear I start watering it. The buds and growths start at the same time.

My first bloom opened today, last for a long long time and have a great fragrance.
