My husband picked this out for me last August when we were on vacation. The plant is super-cute and the blooms are quite strange. The spots are on the back and give a kind of faded appearance on the front. Looking at pictures on the web it seems like there is a pretty wide variety of appearances from this hybrid...!

Hmm, yours looks the same as mine and many I've seen in MA and NH, but yours has many more canes.

What is cool about this primary cross is that it reblooms from old canes as well as new ones. And, the flowers last a long time.

They are, but I wouldn't really call it a pleasant smell.... It's subtle and you have to get your nose in it, but kind of musky.

Looks great! I just bought one and it's out of control with flowers. I think it's my new favorite, but the real test will be if I can get it to re bloom after it finishes it's bloom fest!

There is a bit of variation in this hybrid but I suspect some of the pictures you have seen are of Den. Aussie's Chip which is the same cross using the dwarf form of Den. atroviolaceum (now known as Den. normanbyense)
