Hi S&K, move a bit further back from the flower and take the photo. Also if you have macro capability, be sure to use it. Typically its icon looks like a flower or tulip on point and shoot cameras.

Gorgeous colour, but like the others said they are too out of focus to see properly. I think rangiku is right that you either need to move back or turn on a macro option.

Yes -the best our camera would do will try to get a better shot next time. We were just happy it bloomed.

Mine bloomed with about 10 small flowers at the apex about two months ago and now the same spike is blooming again with 3X more flowers. At first they were just orange but then the center part filled in with a rich red and stripes, it's very striking!
I grow mine mounted and water it pretty much every day year round. I think it was the seaweed that made it bloom again.
