Ok, I was just flicking through the Lavarack/Harris/Stocker Dendrobium book and found pictures showing the difference between chrysopterum and obtusisepalum (wentianum).... obtusisepalum has just that - obtuse lateral sepals. They are actually almost circular whereas in chrysopterum they are fairly pointed. Also obtusisepalum does not seem to be quite as bright and contrasty in its coloring.

I was growing it in a terrarium under very bright fluorescent lighting. I kept it evenly moist and fertilized about weekly. I just moved it outside for the summer to a location which gets a bit of direct sun in the morning and bright shade the rest of the day.
