Dendrobium Noid Purple Flowers from Lowe's Male
Default Dendrobium Noid Purple Flowers from Lowe's

I bought this Dendrobium Noid from Lowe's last year, February 2013. I think it was the third orchid I had bought up till then, and it was also when I noticed the bag babies for the first time. This one wasn't in a bag baby mesh and had a generic Lowe's plant tag, so I don't even think it was a Better Gro. But the flowers were nice, so I bought it.

It has done very well in my conditions, grew out a new cane almost twice the size of the old cane that had the flowers and tons of new roots. When I bought it, the flowers were much more of a maroon color, but they came out much more purple this time around.

I had actually been thinking of tossing this plant before it re-bloomed for me because I wanted to make room for another, non-Noid Dendrobium, but after seeing these flowers again, it's a keeper. I don't care anymore about noid vs non-noid, it's all about the flowers!

A beauty, and well worth keeping by the looks of it.

Beautiful blooms! Thanks for sharing. I wish I would find something like that in our Lowes around here. You have never seen such pathetic orchids as they have in ours!

Recently, I love my Lowes. I got a den. Nobile type, Love, Memory Fizz, last week there, and when I get my next paycheck I will go again to see if the little yellowish nobile is still there. They were 18.00 each, and that is pretty good, considering I do not pay shipping, and they are large blooming sized plants too. Who ever is now managing their plant section is my best friend now.
