Dendrobium Kingianum light requirements?

OK. So far I've gotten lots of info from everyone about the water/temp needs of this plant, but am somewhat alarmed that I didn't even think to ask about light. One of the reasons I have mainly Phals is that I don't have a 'sunny southern window' here-only west and east. This is why I have about half of the phals under my natural light LED track lighting over my kitchen /living room counter. I also have a T5 light set up in front of my east facing picture window, and all my plants do well, as they have fairly low light requirements. That said, would I be correct to say that a Kinganium would not do well with this amount of light? The temps I can vary if need be. I can move it to the basement over nights, and the watering I can manage=let the reservoir go dry (ish) thru the winter until spring.(Right?) But the lighting....

This is a relatively high light plant.

Having said that, I left a bunch of new keikis on a bench below hanging Cattleyas without giving them a dry period (I thought they were too small), and about 1/3 of them spiked anyway.

Just goes to show, Orchids do not read books & web sites about growing conditions.

I grow my kingi where it gets sun all morning in summer, but is mostly shade in winter, and it blooms fabulously! So, I would say lots of light at least spring-summer. I'm sure it can take plenty of light year-round.

I don't "rest" mine either - less water than in summer, but still every week, with usual amount of fertilizer. It does grow outside, so definitely gets cool-cold.

From what I have read from people familiar with kingi's native climate, it isn't really that dry in winter ...

this orchid is endemic to the coastline of Queensland Australia....so it does get bright direct sunlight all year round....but since your plant I assume is Green House bred better give it bright shaded light or the leaves might burn....lots of humidity and air movement since it is sea coastal....

Here they need as much light as Cattleyas.
