Tommy, it doesn't matter if it costs only $12 or for free....but if you have a tag you must abide by it. Do not be deterred by what the others say....stand your ground and since you got it from the Tamiami show then it must be a reputable seller and must present credentials to be able to obtain a table and sell orchid plants. I am sorry I doubted you.

It is. More importantly, it will be a lot easier to flower well in Miami.

Agreed Bud, but you know what, as I do pretty much remember whom did I buy most of the plants from, I do not recall this one, we were with my friend and she got one too, tag says only printed Dendro kingianum, no vendors name, I remember the location at the show so I would be able to find out who it was by asking people working at the show whom I know, and I am sure it was vendor from California, she had many Cymbidiums too, however I am just so busy right now with many things and ahead a week of traveling mid February that I just let it go:-) It's cute small Dendro though:-)

Andrew you may be right, even the fact I know people who bloomed Kingianum here in Florida, mine is doing pretty much nothing, so maybe this little hybrid will be easy to bloom here, will see:-)

Tommy your plant is not a hybrid. Dendrobium kingianum is a specie. And you have a tag to prove it. A seller from California to fly all the way to Florida just to sell you a mistaken identity plant???!! I highly doubt it.

See Bud, I am so tired I write nonsense, I didn't mean hybrid, but cross, as you mentioned. Do you know what is the funniest part - exactly the same blooming plant sold as kingianum was offered in other booth at the show, just couple bucks more, and I do know who was that seller - he was from Florida - I will contact him and ask:-) I know it for sure because I bought mine at the beginning and than when at this guys booth buying bracteosum I saw the exact same Dendro sold as kingianum but for $15:-)

These have been sold by the Apoka/Orlando growers as kingianum for about the last 6 months. They are coming in from overseas probably Thailand as kingianum they are not US hybrids.
They are quite cute even my wife took one home from the Tamiami show. I know both of the dealers that had these at tamiami and will see them again in a couple of weeks. If I learn any more I will post it.
There have been a lot of Vanda (formerly Neofinita) falcata coming in that I thought were hybrids (too large and too cheap) and they proved to be correct species, so I am not willing to write this one off yet.
Since kingianum are cooler growing than we have in South Florida I would prefer it to be a hybrid.

Many thanks Jerry, yes, there were 2 sellers at Tamiami having the exact same plant:-) Well, it is not looking exactly like Kingianum but it is small and cute:-) If you will find more I would love to hear it. Did you get my last email?

Like so many of your orchids, just absolutely beautiful and so well grown. I am happy when my orchids give me a handful of flowers. If I had that many on one plant, I would go nuts and run down the street naked carrying my orchid for the world to see!
