Question on caring for a surprise Peach Perfection Keiki
Default Question on caring for a surprise Peach Perfection Keiki

Several months ago, I accidentally snapped a stem on a dendrobium (peach perfection) I was repotting. Because it was so healthy, and despite knowing it was a goner, I kept it watered and with its former pot mates. To my surprise, it sprouted not one, but two flower stems before the leaves fell.

Somehow, the dry stem was stuck in a spare pot on the back of my potting bench. Imagine my surprise when I found it today - with a Keiki growing out of it!

Looking for tips on how to nurture this little guy - although it seems quite content where it is! Has anyone experienced something similar? Should I pot it or just keep the roots sprayed?

I dont see why you couldnt put it in a little 2 inch pot? with some sphagnum and fine bark maybe to keep moist. or maybe semi-hydro would work well too?
