Default Dendrobium nobiles budding out

Out of the 6 nobiles I got in late November/early December, 5 are now putting out buds. The fat ones I got from Yamamoto, the species I got at Andy's. One is getting very close to opening its first buds that are on a back cane, I can't take credit for that as it was on there when it arrived. But the other buds I'm going to take credit for. ;-)

ron-in-norcal, They look great! Would you share your care tips? I've had 1 for a year and a half and just received 4 different Nobile keikis. Thanks!

Amy, I'm far from an expert, but from what I understand once they start growing, they like plenty of water and regular fertilizing, but once the growth finishes for the year (you get that terminal leaf), then stop fertilizing, and begin to cut back on water. And, after that let them get pretty cold at night (going into the 40s is OK) to cause them to set buds. I just got mine a few months ago, so they'd already reached their growth for the year, and living where I am, I can leave them out at night year-round. That seems to have worked, we've had lots of nights in the 40s, and they've obliged by dropping the older leaves and setting buds.

Please do.

I should post a photo of mine that just opened up its last little bunch. I'm glad it flowered but just around the top of the canes.
I don't think I can never satisfy the lower temp requirement for an optimal flowering as an indoor grower. oh, well.

I'm hoping I get a good flowering, I checked this morning and I think the species one is starting to make buds. If so, then I'll know I'm giving them the right conditions since I think it's trickier than the tetraploid versions. There is clear budding on two very old canes, but I don't know if those will be keikis or flowers. I was surprised to see lots of green tips on the roots suddenly. Not sure what that means.

Anyway, yes, I'd love to see photos of yours fully open. Maybe a window that lets in more chilly air being cracked open would give them more chill? But, that might be an expensive proposition. Now if the D. farmeri and D. chrysotoxum will flower I'll be a happy camper.
