Default Dendrobium Country Girl 'Warabeuta'

This is from Yamamoto that I got at a spring orchid show.
It is very short variety but mine looks very old as it has many many canes unless it is a collection of a few plants.

It is about to pop some buds. so the bud watch is about to come to an end.

I wish there were more but happy that I got some.

That looks like it will still be quite a show! Congratulations, I'm looking forward to the flower photos when they open. Yamamoto produces some spectacular plants, don't they? Even the small plant I got from them was blooming size and full of canes. Makes me wonder what they'll be like in a few years!

No, it is only about 35cm. very short variety.
but it does have many canes and I plan to divide it in half in the spring.

When I bought this in the spring, it was loaded with flowers from top to the base of the canes.
So, this is nothing compared to that.

At least the few spikes all coming out from near the top of canes, so they should look alright when fully open.

Three other canes with quite a few spikes all aborted themselves, which makes me angry.

At least I now this plant flowers with the condition I can give.

Yamamoto is the best nobile hybrids producers in the world. I want to have all of their stocks.

Yes, many of their plants will bloom even on plants that are 3-4 inch tall.

So this Country Girl is actually a nobile! I am surprised because the one I purchase at auction has a different growth habit (it is more spread out rather than an upright clump). Could you tell us more about this plant?

In particular I'd like to know more about
the length of time you gave it a rest,

the temperature and

humidity during its rest and whether or not you

misted the resting plant.

Also, did the leave fall off when you initiated rest (mine are still on; I got it that way when purchased this December 2014)

Thank you for fielding these questions.

Default Open Now!

It has been in bloom for about one week now.
There are still three buds to open. I broke off a few. lol

Although the performance is poor ( just a few flowers near the top instead of the entire length of the canes), I'm glad there are a few canes so the whole thing looks good enough for me.

This is the only nobile hybrid that I have that does not have any fragrance.

By the way, I'm taking this to the show (to present not to win anything lol ) tomorrow. yay!
