Default Dendrobium anosmum in Bloom

It is very unusual to have a Den. anosmum in bloom at this time of the year so I was quite surprised to find this hidden among the plants. The plant has six semi-alba flowers on the lower third of a 27 inch long stem. The throat is deep magenta. There is no fragrance.

It is very unusual for Den. anosmum to bloom at this time of the year, even for Hawaii. The usual blooming period is March through May.

I received this seedling a couple of years from a friend in Japan. According to the label, it is a selfing of Den. anosmum 'Sitro Smile' which received a Bronze Medal from the Japan Orchid Growers Association. The flowers closely resemble Den. anosmum 'Huttoni'.

That is beautiful!!!

I don't think I've seen this color combo in this plant.
The all the common light purple and all white.
I think this is the best ever!

What is the difference between semi-alba and 'huttoni'?
