Dendrobium bigibbum (v. compactum)
Growing on a stick! I got this from Andy's about 4 1/2 years ago.
It's been a reliable bloomer, tho never gets more than a few blooms per spike; this time, two spikes on the parent with 3 blooms each, one keiki with two blooms (there was another spike that started later than these that has aborted, and another cane with a small spike nub) - I don't know if that's typical for the species/variety, or if it could use more fertilizer, or what ... I do expect my mounted orchids could use more fertilizer - I did up the frequency for this one this year, but didn't seem to make a difference in the bloom count.
I love it, regardless - grows very happily on the mount. Drenched daily during warm-hot weather months; in cool, damp weather months I spray the roots well most days.
Grows in a west facing window, hanging from the curtain rod.
Thanks for looking

Is this the mother of the generic Dendrobium hybrid?

Excellent photography Sonya! The first picture of the entire plant is very appealing. It helps me understand how well you raised this plant. Thank you!
