Default dendrobium anntenatum( corrected spot)

Okay I am slightly in need of advice on this guy it is continuing to do okay I guess.....it hasnt died yet I am happy to say that
I have had it for 2 possibly 3 months....I think...ugh college kid brain...anyways filtered bright sun, better gro special mix w a little moss to help with keeping some extra moisture... what is also w the yellow rings around the canes? My dendrobium has the same thing. But as in the pictures there is new growth!!
I know it is a part of the cattleya alliance so should it be getting more light? Oy I am so confused; this is one of those that I should have done some serious research on...

Also am bidding on an Epidendrom bifalce any suggestions on that one as well in case I win it?
