New bloom on Dendrobium Bracteosum
I would really like to put a photo of this pretty bloom on this site, but I use an iPad and iPad doesn't use URL. Can you make it easier for us who use a tablet to post photos?Facebook has a simple click on photo and there it is. [/QUOTE]

Finally went down to reply and found I could upload a photo. I love this little firecracker of a dendrobium. This is it's second bloom season. It is a mini, in a tiny basket with charcoal, bark and fiber, and gets watered with weak fertilizer every week or so, and kept moist by the hose every few days. It blooms in late summer and lasts several months. A keeper.

Never heard of a mini,,,,,mine is about 2 ft tall and loads of flowers., I was surprised at the care of this.
The media calls fpr a spag and bark mix and watering three times a week in the growing season, then a dry period.
Does yours have a fragrance? I can't detect anything on mine. Maybe when the blooms first opened. My blooms have lasted for over a month. I'll start looking for a mini, dens always get so big!~

Mine has about 5 canes, the tallest of which is about a foot tall. Maybe it will get bigger with time. It has no fragrance sadly. I love the flowers and that they last for months.

Dendrobiums are so cool! They remind me of bamboo because of the shoots. Nice flowers! I have a hybrid of this species that I am dyeing to see bloom.

Never seen a pink one, but I tally like my white with the orange centers. It takes so long to open that I get frustrated waiting, but then lasts for three or more months, so guess it is worth it.
