Default DEN. HETEROCARPUM KEIKIS - WHAT TO DO?

hi guys
I love Dendrobiums and in recent months I did buy quite a few. I have never separate keikis be4. My heterocarpum has quite a lot of keikis, some of them still with small roots, but some of them has roots that are over 3". When do you think would be the best time to separate them, and what to do with them afterwords, what potting mix, or can I mount them? Should I apply something on the mother plant at the point of separation, read somewhere some people use cinnamon when cutting the old flower spikes? Thanks so much for all the tips.

Water 1st to soften those roots else they break (easily) when dry.

thanks, i did see that on youtube. My question is, should I do it now, or wait till fall, before the winter rest, and do it than? what is better for keikis? I assume to do it now, it will be better for them to start grow by themselves? Also, can I mount them only, without potting mix? I did see this den. to be mounted actually and it seems like better idea to me, plus I did read that they like to be mounted. Mine cam in the pot, however is it safe for keikis to be mounted?
