Roots growing out of flowers? Female
Default Roots growing out of flowers?

Hi all,

I attached a picture because this is a little weird. I noticed yesterday on my Nobile Dendrobium Oriental Smile that there were roots growing out of one of the flower sets. I looked around on Google but couldn't find anything, and I've never heard of this before.

Is it possible to grow a keiki in reverse order? Because at first, they were just normal flowers. But from the picture, you can see that the base has gotten fatter. I'm just wondering if I've done something wrong, or if my orchid is losing its mind?

Thanks!

Kingianum is a different type if Den, so I don't know how usual this may be for nobile types, but mostly I've learned not to be too surprised by crazy things Dens do

I recommend you loosen those bands holding the plant to the stake, as those maybe covering up the keiki bud, give it room to grow!
