I don't get as many blooms as I would like. I started too dry because I kept hearing no water from Halloween to Valentine's Day. But I spoke to the vendor who I bought mine from and he said that is too dry. He advised to water them and mist occasionally and not let the pseudobulbs shrivel. I had also stopped feeding at Halloween, but he said no fertilizer by mid to late summer. So last summer I stopped fertilizing by Aug. and I did get better results this past spring. They need good bright light thru that dry period also. Hope that helps. That was for my nobile hybrids. I think I didn't give my Stardust ones a good enough rest! Those type for me seem to bloom off and on rather than just in spring like my nobiles.

They should take the same care as commonly sold nobile hybrid.

By the way, I've never seen yellow either. always orange. It is nice though! I love yellow flowers!

My dendrobium nobile "yellow song" canary would make relatively long "spike" for nobiles where 3-6 flowers are born. When it gets long with 6 flowers, it sometimes grow roots out on the spike itself. but the ones that do make roots also have some leaves at the base as well. It start out as if it is a keiki then turn into a spike it seems.
