Dendrobium kingianum keiki care Male

The first keiki died. I was given a new one. How long does it take for a Dendrobium kingianum keiki to produce flowers? The other ones on the mother plant have spikes with buds now. I wish I had left this one there until it had buds. To encourage spike formation this keiki has been on my glazed balcony, very cool and dry from about September or October. It has done nothing so I have moved it back indoors and watered it. Since I have the door open there is a slight drop in temperature over night.
