All the flowers are gone now and two little new growths with prettily colored tips have been growing in the past few weeks.

Just a few days ago, I noticed two canes that just finished a long period of flowering are staring new spikes! One is already poking out and the other is about to poke out.
I thought the one spike per cane was the pattern for this plant but I guess not. it is a very pleasant surprise for me.

I know, right?
If I remember correctly, it takes about two months for the emerging spike to open its first flower. I doubt the bloom will last as long though with summer heat coming while it's in bloom. My apartment gets cooking hot in the summer. lol

Another great news is that those new shoots are fatter at the base than any of the preivous ones, so I'm pretty excited. maybe this plant is about to take off after the first two flowering.

I know antelope types can bloom throughout the year and stay in bloom forever.

Even better, I noticed a third spike coming out on one of the two older canes.

I was hoping that this plant would shoot up a few spikes as I could see those sleeping spike eyes but only one spike per cane so far.

Maybe now it decided to bloom more often for some reason. So I guess blooming for this plant is not seasonal as I thought before.

Whatever happened to the plant, I'm happy with what's happening now.

Now I'm wishing the other "old" cane will also sprout out a spike or two.

The last picture is the "new" spike I spotted earlier this week.

Well, I haven't taken pictures of this plant since last week. A few flowers are open but this picture is from last week.

How many canes are there on yours?
It will eventually get bigger if there are less than 4 canes. Otherwise, it will most likely stay small.

Ok, then it most likely will get bigger and bigger each time it grows new canes.

Yes the spike gets bigger every year. Also, I repotted in coco chips and charcoal instead of that muck it came in.
