After years of struggling with this cousin of the (for me) much easier to grow and bloom Dendrobium speciosum, I've finally coaxed my plant to produce a few spikes. Buds should be opening within the week, so I'm quite exciting.
Most of the blooms are finally open, and the fragrance is really strong. I'm not entirely fond of the scent. I've had it in my bedroom for the last few days, and in strong sunlight the sweet fragrance is so pervasive that it's difficult to stay in the same room with the plant (luckily the flowers close at night and the scent disappears). Still, the flower spikes make a good display.
