Hi all, I went to the Blooms Botanical Expo in NYC yesterday and fell in love with this plant, it's from H&R Nurseries.

It has a total of 12 spikes with 33 open blooms at the moment and 20 more unopened buds. I'm so excited and I hope I can get it to bloom like this every time, it's really spectacular. It's only about 30cm tall in total so it's pretty compact. So happy right now, I hope the pics do it justice.

If anyone has advice on how to grow these in a NYC apartment I will be eternally grateful.

Adriana, I'm sure you can rebloom this one profusely! I have Den. Nora Tukunaga which looks remarkably similar, in bloom right now. Mine has 13 spikes and 48 blooms on it. It is one of my most reliable bloomers! So expect your blooming display to get better year after year

Very pretty. And I also like the pot it is sitting in.

Adriana,
I should add, that mine is in rocks in a clay pot, so that it drys out very quickly. I do get the occasional accordion leaf from lack of regular watering ( ). In general I water it 2 - 3 x a week in winter and almost daily when it is outdoors in the summer. It also likes lots of food (I use MSU fertilizer), and it seems to send up new growths continuously (no rest period).

Humidity trays, or even better, an evaporative humidifier. But you know that already.
