Den Wave King 'Akebono' in bloom
This is a nobile hybrid. I have had several in bloom already in the past month but I never get more than around 5 blooms as this one has. These seem particularly huge and I really like it. They last quite a few weeks. There are lots of canes which are very plump and no keikis so I don't know why they don't bloom if one cane can get 4 flowers and another cane gets one bloom. But they put on a good show anyways because of their size and colour!

delightful flowers....the colors are amazing, this retains a typical Dendrobium nobile hybrid form that is quite big in proportion to its canes and leaves....

Have you kept your nobiles cool enough for at least two months??
That could be why.
By the way, I noticed that your plant is almost like a mini. With not so many nodes on the canes, there will be less blooms. Each short spike produces somewhere from one to six flowers.
I used to put mine in my friends unheated sunroom. That is no longer available and I only kept my one favorite, Oriental Smile "Fantasy" without much expectation as far as flowering is concerned.
It does get some cooling at night by the window but not nearly as much.
To my surprise, it is in bloom at the moment, but nothing like when it received proper cooling.
One small bunch up on the top and another bunch toward the bottom of the canes. Kinda funny, but pretty flowers.

What a beauty! The colors and the shape of the flowers actually took my breath away when I opened the pic. Thanks for sharing and making my day!

Thanks for all the nice comments! My Hubby loves this one (I do too).
The canes on this are really fat compared to some of my other ones and not as tall as the tallest on others. So I don't know if that makes it a mini or what.
NYCorchidman, mine likely gets a better chill than most people can provide, partly due to where i live. They stay in the greenhouse all winter right at the foot of the patio door where there can be ice from condensation an inch away from them. The room itself is 65F in the day and 55F at night. Being that low and at the patio door it should be a lot cooler. My only downfall might be light. We're still in renovation mode in the greenhouse and this winter I didn't have a good place to plug a T5 in over these Dens so they just got the bright sun reflecting off the snow that came thru the windows. Next year a T5 and we'll see if there is a difference.

I see!
You do have a perfect place for them for winter rest, except the light as you mentioned.
Supplemental light and sun light relfected off snow is nowhere near enough for these.
I have seen this variety a lot but they were always very big. maybe it's just individual difference. some tall and some not so tall.
