Nice white flowers!
I love nobile hybrids.
To have an abundant bloom, a few things must be met.
1. Grow as large as possible during spring and summer by giving it lots of water and fertilizer under strongest light possible.
2. Toward the end of growth season, usually mid to late summer (or when you see the last leaf on the end of canes), stop fertilizing but continue with watering. I stop all fertilizing as early as July.
3. In the fall when the weather cools, continue to give the strongest sun possible, keep the plant COOL for at least two months or longer (night should be lower than 58F, lower the better, but of course, do not allow freezing).
4. Enjoy the fantastic flower show come spring!
I always kept my nobiles at my friend's unheated sun room and they always bloomed amazingly well.
I no longer have that option and got rid of most of my nobiles. I kept one, Oriental Smile "Fantasy".
It sits by the window that does experience some cooling but not cool enough. didn't expect much, but it is making a few spikes and total of 14 flowers, some on top, some toward the bottom of the canes.
Not impressive, but still pretty flowers to look at!
I'm thinking of sticking it into the fridge next season and see how that fares. lol

I will print this and try it. I think i know now where i went wrong ,reading your Post-i keep fertilizing till November
and then i put it in the unheaded spare Room.
That Fridge Idea is not bad-People do it with Tulip Bulbs.

I pretty much followed this regime to a T. And some of the canes are fat and succulent so they definitely had the resources to bloom. Oh well, I always say that orchid growing is next year country!
