Dendrobium Cherry Dancer in bloom again!
Default Dendrobium Cherry Dancer in bloom again!

I got this plant in February last year. It had FIVE spikes at the time!
While growing a new cane during the summer, the older cane suddenly turn brown from the top end and worked its way down the cane. I was afraid it was some sort of bacterial rot and I would lose the plant.
I thought about cutting the browning cane to hopefully stop the spread of the browning.

Well, I got lazy and didn't do anything about it. Surprisingly, the browning stopped at the base of the old cane and left the new cane completely unaffected.
I've never seen something like this happening to my other dendrobium hybrids.
Whatever it was, I'm glad it stopped.

Then this new cane matured to the same size as the dead one in the fall and produced two spikes with 9 and 7 flowers each now!

The color is much darker in real life.

a cute little plant!
