This one grew at my friend's unheated sunroom last year and bloomed wonderfuly.
It grew on my slightly blocked south window this year where there is no cool treatment. I was afraid it wouldn't flower at all because of that.
I am happy to report that there are some buds and knobs, although they are rather sporadic and poor.
There are five spikes coming out of last year's cane that had tons of flowers last season, and two spikes coming out of this year's cane, which is sad.
One of the spikes on last year's cane is showing three buds on it that may open probably toward the end of this month. This is about one month earlier than last season.
wish there were more, but happy to see at least a few.
This is a nice plant, grows well and flowers like crazy under the right condition, which I can't give anymore unfortunately.
by the way, the buds have been growing larger fast and they are about to open now.
I see the light green buds turning yellowish and showing red. These flowers open rather reddish, then over the course of a couple of weeks or longer, the fantastic colors of tropical sunset (dark apricot or orange with red tips) kick in. Truly amazing!
