Default Trying out my new camera - Noid Phal type Den

Yesterday I finally bought a DSLR camera, something I've been really really wanting for the last few years. I got a Canon EOS 600D (Rebel T3i in the USA), and in the 24 hours I've had it, I've had a lot of fun! Since I don't have anything in bloom at the moment, I figured I needed to buy another orchid. What's 5 bucks after already spending so much on the camera?

So I got this cute little Den, I like the bit of splash it has!

Hopefully I'll be able to buy a nice macro lens within a year or so, but for now I've ordered extension tubes to use with the 50mm f1.8 lens that I also ordered. That way that lens can do double duty for a while.

Stunning work, Camille, and a beautiful Dendrobium, too. Congratulations on the new camera, but be careful. Photography can be as addicting as orchids.

Great orchid blooms and photo. congrats on the new camera. Now you can enter the next calendar contest in 2013! I know you've wanted a new camera for a while.

Thanks guys!

Ron- I think I've already discovered that photography is just as addictive as orchids! I couldn't put down the camera yesterday, lost track of time and ended up having dinner at 10:30pm!

Silken- You remember well, now I can take photos large enough for the calendar contest! Now I just need to get some good shots before next summer.
