NOID dendrobium lost all its leaves.
In Sept., I repotted a dendrobium after its blooms were done. It stayed dormant, and then the leaves started turning yellow. Now the last couple of leaves have fallen off. Do you think it will survive? Should I wait to see if it will produce new canes from the base or should I cut out one cane and lay it in moist sphagnum moss to produce keikis? Please advice!

A picture might be helpful, I know there are some species of den that lose all the leaves on their canes when they go dormant and it's perfectly normal. I think... any second opinions?

I agree. A picture would be somewhat helpful to determine what kind it is. Some of mine lose their leaves and then bloom!

The ideal time to repot a den is when new short roots are starting to grow from the new canes.
Could you post a picture of it?

I see some of our fellow orchid lovers using tapatalk. Wonder if that app is easy for somebody like me!

I don't use tapatalk so can't answer that for you.
It does look like a Phal type Dendrobium based on where the old spike was. I have several leafless ones and I don't know if its something I am doing. Dens seem to shed rather easily and the big fat canes can do some photosynthesizing so I think it will be fine. That type grows somewhat warmer than nobile type but I am not real experienced with them. I would say water it but don't over-water.

Sorry, I can't find the picture of the orchid in bloom, but here's the one without the leaves.

Thanks!

I'm really not an expert on Dens but I believe it's perfectly normal for that type to lose its leaves. Anyone with more experience with Dens should chime in here.
Good luck!
