winter rest for Den. Woon Leng?

I have had this orchid for several years now without any success in blooming. I haven't tried a winter rest on it before so this year I am trying a winter rest. I haven't watered it since the beginning of October. Other than loosing some leaves it still looks great. So when should I start watering it again? I am concerned that it will start to dry out and wither.

It has predominantly phal type parentage so you would be best to dry winter it. Essentially once winter sets in don't water again until you see new growth. You can give a bit of a sprinkle if the bulbs look like they are shrivelling but don't soak it...just enough water to wet a couple of roots is fine. You'd think they'd dehydrate but they seem to do ok with no water for several months.

I water my den-phals year-round ... I do allow them ti dry completely in winter, before watering again.

How much light does it get?

It is in a south east facing window. So it gets as much sun as I can give it without going outside. I have it on a table which sits about a foot above the radiator. The plants stay warm there but I notice they dry out faster too. So I will start spritzing them with a sprayer every 2 days or so and just trust this is what they need.

Your orchid is a hybrid specially created by Woon Leng of Singapore for the cut flower business to cater to hotels, flower shops and homes.
This hybrid doesnt need winter rest. It was bred to flower as much as it can and for the blooms to last at least 2 weeks in a vase flower arrangement.
But since it is a Den Phal: when the flowers are gone, it might lose its leaves but dont fret for the canes with no leaves can rebloom flowers for you again....if the keikis grow five inches then twist and pull it and plant it near the mother....
needs warmth, bright shaded light, water and food.
trust your instincs...as I have noticed you have already began a watering regimen that is working for both of you and the plant....if possible you bring it outdoors in the summer and let the humidity in your atmosphere take care of it...make sure it is in shaded sun or the leaves will burn
