I think it's a relatively new species, this article list it as originating from the lowland and submontane areas of northern Vietman so maybe do some research into climatic conditions for that area.

D. vietnamiense (sp?) Male
Default Dend. vietnamense

From Marlow Orchids web site.

Flowers profusly in June on established plants. Flowers are similar to Den. hercoglossum but plant habit is different. Recently described in 2005, and there is not much information in print. We grow the plants along side the rest of our intermediate to warm Dendrobiums but in very low light. The plants like to grow horizontally and after spike mature they can be 'righted' for yearly blooming.

Not much info, but I hope this helps!

Good luck with that vietnamense. That is a really nice find. I will have to acquire one myself. I was able to get hercoglossum to bloom once, but now it's doing poorly.
