Sonia is scented but you'd have to get right up close to the flowers.
My Emma White is also slightly scented.

Usually dendrobium hybrids with skinny sepals and petals (I guess ones with spatulata blood in them) are strongly scented. At least all of mine are, with the exception of Warawan.

Gorgeous Dens. I have several small ones but they just don't get the warmth they need thru the winter. I do have them on heat mats.

I just recently bought a lovely little NOID one at Safeway that is almost blue. I really love it even tho it has no name.

Love those dens!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
I have a few that I just got this year and I am keeping them in bright light as I see you and many others here on OB are. I just moved them to a cooler room and am giving them less water as I think that is what I am reading about them. How big would they have to be to have a bloom this spring??? (i.e. how many canes?)

Thanks again for sharing! The colors are wonderful!

Little den with blue flowers? that would be sooo cute! why don't you post some pictures?

I don't know how cool your growing area gets in the winter, but unless it is under 50F, they can survive as long as they are kept on the dry side with occasional gentle watering, not drenching.
you can even keep them away from the bright light and they just survive.

I have no idea how cool is your cooler room, but I think what you've been reading up on is about nobile hybrids, not these dens I posted.
These do not need cool, and cool is actually bad for them as they are tropical.
so Please move them back to warmer room.
but first, identify what types of dens you have first.

It's not numbers of canes, but size that determines their maturity.

Well, when I say blue I don't mean sky blue. But about as blue as you get in the flower world except maybe for Vandas and those dyed Phals! Here are a couple pics. It's hard to get it exact but its pretty close.

My growing area gets to around 55F at night and 65F daytime in the winter. But I do have a little micro climate set up for the warm growers that I can't resist buying. So it will go on a heat mat in a little area surrounded by mylar on three sides and it should be fine I hope.

Thanks. It was just sitting on the floor in Safeway with about 5 other little Dens. They weren't even in with the other flowers so I don't know what was up with that. But I was drawn to this one and had to have it! I wish I knew its name. I did e-mail the company but they never got back to me.

I bought one, identical to the one Silken has, from Home Depot last week of Sept. The blooms are almost done, and I have wondered ever since I got it if they dye Dens the way they do Phal? The wilted flowers look pink!
