Thanks for the advice, winter watering of resting orchids had confused me in the past and I think one unicum hybrid in particular has suffered as a result.

aemiklain:
The yellowing in the leaves from the old cane is natural. When the night temp drops to 50s, a lot of nobiles will start to do that.
However, when the weather gets cool, it is time to reduce watering by A LOT.
I do not water my nobile hybrids from Late November to about February when I start to see flower buds from the canes.
Also, do you see terminal leaves on the new canes? Meaning that the new canes look like they are done growing with no more new leaves coming.
When you see that, it is time to reduce watering.
This type of Dendrobium won't flower well without a dry, cool and sunny winter rest. Put it next to a sunny window, let the night time temp drop to the 50s and leave it dry. If you must water, do it may be a once a month between November and February.

Also, now is not the time to re-pot. The plant should be left alone to rest.

I hope this helps.
Andrew

I also added one of these to my orchid collection this spring. I repotted when the flowers were finished in a medium to large size bark. I repotted in a clear plastic pot so I could see the roots better and there was significant root growth since then. I accidentally broke off the new cane that was growing when I repotted but three new canes grew this summer. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that the older canes finally plumped up. I was watering a lot this summer as where the species Den. Nobiles grow, there is a rainy season and the winter is dry. I have stopped fertilizing and have begun to cut back on watering. Two leaves have turned yellow so far.

I have found in several sources and also from a lengthly discussion on orchid board with NYCorchidman that these plants need to have exposure to cooler temperatures in the winter and much less watering in order for them to flower well. I do believe that the older canes do re-flower which was one of my reasons to add this to my collection as most orchids only bloom on new growth. I won't know until this winter if this is true.

I don't know if I would repot now as it shocks the plant every time do, but I would certainly cut back on watering, the medium should not still be so wet when you water again.

I have mine outdoors in a small green house where it is protected from frost for now. I stopped feeding the end of September and I am watering once a week now. The night temps here are low year round, though. This worked last year. It gradually went into a rest and I watered very little during the winter.

Certain hybrids bloom throughout the year in our climate as the low night temperature triggers the buds formation.
I remember it was Fancy Angel Lycee grown in coasal Oregon and Washington. bloomed in the spring through the fall.
