Dendrobium Elegant Midnight
A couple of years ago I donated all of my Den/Phal type Dendrobiums to the orchid society auction because they grew to be quite large and I needed the space. However, I kept all of the black/purple flowered varieties so I have about four that have near black flowers. This one is in bloom now and it has that beautiful velvet texture. My camera just doesn't pick up the dark color or the texture right but you can get the idea.

Wow! Now where can I get me one of those?
edit: alas, none of these vendor searches seem to turn one up. That is one beautiful orchid.
edit 2: I did find the other dark purple you've posted about, the burana sundae... and it's on order.

I have Burana Sundae and flowers are purple with green centers. The color combination is dramatic. The flower is a different shape than the one shown. Sorry, I don't have a picture. It is a prolific bloomer - I just cut off the last of the flower spikes about 2 weeks ago and it started blooming in early spring.

Carrie, mine always blooms in the fall. As a matter of fact, all of my den/phals bloomed in the fall and winter.
I think I would enjoy the flowers more in summer when flowers are a little scarce for me.
