Default Dendro. media preference

Wondering what dendros prefer as media? I have acquired a dendro nobile, a dendro mike stripe, and another dendro from HI. My Mike Stripe is in prime agra. My only issue with this is that the chid is top heavy.
Does anyone else grow there's in s/h and have and suggestions or comments?

Any help would be wonderful!!!
Thank you!

I like to grow my Dendrobiums in granite. Nice and heavy to keep any topheavy plant upright and does not rot. This is outside though, where I water every other day. If I had them indoors where watering is more tedious I would probably use a CHC, charcoal, perlite mix.

Hi Candice

All my Dens (except the mounted ones) are in aliflor and lovin' it
A lot of them started out in clear plastic pots but the top-heavy plants became an issue so I put those pots into clay pots for stability and it seems to have taken care of the problem.

I grow some in sphag & rok, others in a bark mix - all potted in clay, double potted when outside for weight.

I have 2 in coco and 2 in fir bark. The 2 in coco, perlite and charc. are growing new roots like crazy, and they have very substantial new growths. Only 1 in fir is doing any significant growing, and it's a mini.
