Default Dendrobium Maiden Charlotte

This is a beautiful primary hybrid of Dendrobium rhodostictum x Dendrobium aberrans; with small flowers on reed like compact plants….producing multiple spikes in a bulb(I have two spikes this time). It is free flowering and can bloom periodically throughout the year. Once it flowers, they can stay that way for months. The plant stands 8 inches ….I was thinking of repotting but it might not divide well since the pseudo bulbs seem to radiate from the center and a division might make it grow lop-sided.

Very pretty white blossoms. Is this one that blooms on all the old growths as well? I love the dens that are always in bloom!

Protect this one with your life! I tried to get one from H&R earlier this year and was told they don't make this cross any more. That saddened me because I had one, but unfortunately it did not survive a severe sunburn. It is such a lovely, long lasting flower. Now I contend myself with an aberrans and a micro chip. Both are worth growing as well, but they're just not the Maiden Charlotte!

I have a Den Mini Snowflake which looks similar. Maybe it can be a substitute? It blooms reliably and the blooms are long lasting. Entire plant is about 6-8 inches tall. This is old picture since it's not in bloom right nowDendrobium Maiden Charlotte-den-mini-snowlfake-2009-01-04-2-jpg

Thank You, Carrie !

I also have the Mini Snowflakes and its delightfully fragrant....but the Maiden Charlotte have flecks of purple at the edge of the petals and purple specks at the lip(which is caught very slightly by my camera....maybe a more powerful one could have defined it well)
