Default Dendrobium Apichart Rainbow × Bigibbum Comp.

It's the time of the year when dendrobiums are blooming. All mine are either growing spikes or already in bloom. (one has just finished blooming and growing a new cane)

This is probably my favorite dendrobium hybrid as far as color and flower shape are concerned along with light blue flowered ones.

Den. Polar Fire has always been in my wishlist and this one looks very similar. no idea what the cross background for Polar Fire is, but maybe it is the registered name for this?

Anyways, barely foot tall smallish plant with abundant and large flowers. real winner!

There are three more spikes coming. Yay!

Nice to see one of these. I lost mine to mites and couldn't remember what the blooms looked like. Excellent shot of lovely flowers.

Thank you, Beth!
Wow~ must have been a pretty bad infestation! I'm spider mites can cause leaves drop in severe case, but you can save the cane and get some keikis usually. well, some dens do not readily produce keikis anyway it seems.

I wish I could just fly over to orchid farms in Hawaii and pick lots of dendrobiums.
just visited someone's house the other day and there were a few cute hybrids I've never seen. all from Hawaii.

Well, there's no end to wanting more orchids. lol
I think I have some nice ones myself.
