Many years ago, someone suggested to me that this was caused by uneven watering. I do not know if this is true.

I've had pbulbs split a bit on some orchids - in my case it has never become a problem. I don't know what causes it either - I don't think in my cases uneven watering are likely (tho I wouldn't completely rule it out). I am interested to see what others may have to say ...

On some computer OS, if you dont start iTunes you can access your iPod like a flash drive through My Computer. It works with my Vista machine but not on my Win7 laptop. Good luck.

Occasionally the new canes on some of my dendrobes split. Some plants seem prone to it but most don't. Does seem to be confined to a sub-set the ones with the fatter psuedobulbs.

Doesn't seem to harm them.
