Love Memory Fizz, Red Prince, Fancy Angel are always available from winter to spring here. but this year, I see Oriental Smile Fantasy and Yellow Song in quite a few stores. They are super tall too!
My Oriental Smile is very tall but my Yellow Song is rather short, which I like as well.

Get one, Camille, you'll love it!

gotcha.

I use my friend's unheated balcony for the winter rest. He's a minimalist, that's why I only have two. Otherwise, I would have sooooo many! hahaha

I love to see them while growing so fast during warm season as well. They look sort of like mini bamboos.
of course the flowers are the highlight.

Wow, your Dendrobiums are gorgeous. Camille asked my first question. My second is, what kind is the Den in your fifth picture?

Dendrobium Cherry Dance is the name for that one.
I am not so sure about the parentage, but it looks like it has some dendrobium cannaliculatum in it.
It has 5 spikes, quite the flower show, but the flowering cane just lost 3 leaves suddenly last week. It is strange because none of the older cane has lost any leaves and that is usually the case. old ones going first. hmmmm
At least it is also growing a new cane, so at least that is a good sign I guess.

love to them grow. so fast!!!!

Those are some beautiful dendrobiums. All your plants look incredibly healthy. You've made me think about retrying some. I have a small outdoors growing area and the dendrobiums got too big after a couple of years. But your's look so nice I might try them again.

Thank you all!

I love everything about them, color, shape, some of them nicely scented, growth habit...and they don't spread out but just grow upward so I can have many of them on my window.

tucker85- I wish I lived in Florida! Most of mine grow one cane a time, I can see how they will grow like crazy in the right environment. my dream is to have a garden loaded with dendrobiums and go flower crazy from all the canes they grow all the time! hahaha

By the way, you can try some not so tall ones. Some of mine grow 3-4 ft but some are shorter than 1ft and still flower nicely. If you'd like, I will send you some low growing ones when I have enough keikis to give away.

You can always divide them or cut them into pieces and start new with keikis if you don't like how big they get.

You should give it another go. Dens do awfully well down here in Central Florida.
