Sue, This is one that I found while looking for the jacobsonii that you and Ross told me I had to get. Den. jenkinsii was also suggested, and I almost got it as well, but then I saw this one - and I had to have it!
Summer days average mid-70s and nights average around 60.
Humidity around 80%.
Light is about 2500.
Winter days should be about the same highs as summer, but lows are supposed to drop into the 40s. The average low temperatures should drop below 50F (10C) for 3 months and then warm rapidly in spring. I can achieve this by putting it at night on my unheated side porch for three months.

Neverend & Dorothy,
Yes, isn't that lip to-die-for?? I'm really starting to like all of these off the wall Dens. For so long, I always thought of Dens as those nobile hybrids - and wasn't very interested. But the 4 Dens I have now are so varied (cuthbertsonii, senile, jacobsonii, and this one) how could I ever get tired of them??

That's amazing Shakkai! It immediately got put on my dendro wish list. That lip is incredible! Any scent?
Sue I think the frilly lip one you are thinking of that was suggested for Project 4 was Rhyncholalia digbyana aka Brassavola digbyana.

Dorothy, All but this one are classed as minis. This one is just small... The tallest cane is about 10 inches.
Terri, YES!! It is scented as well... kinda sweet, gardenia scented was the first thing that came to mind.
I would highly recommend this one - great colour, very interesting form, and nice scent. Though I have read that some people find it difficult because of the high-ish light/low temp combo.

Shak - there is a frilly lipped orchid we tried to get for the project 4 but it was a cool grower .. and I can't for the life of me remember .. as I have been trying to look it up ... do you recall ? .. That one was on my wish list .. but darn, I lost that, too ..
