The cooler nights might just do the trick, especially if you try the Epsom salt solution. Best of luck!

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the benefit of the Epsom salt mixture? I know I read something about this but can't remember why it was a good thing for orchids. Nitrogen maybe?

I think it's the magnesium, but I honestly don't know. I don't care so much to be honest because It seems to work on my three stubborn phals that just don't want to bloom. I've used the Epsom solution on them twice last year and again this past winter...all three times I had spikes within a few weeks. Coincidence?...possibly. Either way, I'm happy because they finally bloom regularly as long as I drench them in the solution. I figure it's not hurting them and I always flush them with plain water the next few waterings to flush out the salt.

Interesting!!! I might give that a go. As a side note, People at the last OS meeting said that their phals were either not blooming or just. It very colorful this year due to the weather. Of course, that is just this year. I'll do more research on this method! Sounds promising! Thank you!
