Den. laevifolium question

I've had this species for less than a year and haven't bloomed it yet, so I'm looking for someone with bloom experience.

I know this species blooms on leafless pseudobulbs, but can leaves grow back from bulbs that have previously lost their leaves or are these growths buds? My plants has some vegetative structure forming from at least two of the old bulbs, but they don't look like buds to me. It could be that I just don't know how to recognize buds from species in this section since I've only bloomed Den. delicatulum and its buds just sort of "appeared". Any help would be appreciated.
